SUPREME showcased at ACAC 2026
- 25/06/2026
On 25 June 2026, the SUPREME project was proudly represented at the ACAC 2026 Conference in Athens, Greece, through an oral presentation delivered by Foteini Gerodimou from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA), one of the project’s consortium partners.
As part of the conference programme, Foteini presented “Antifungal Activity of SiO₂@Ag Core-Shell Nanoparticles against Aspergillus niger: In vitro and In situ Evaluation” during one of the oral presentation sessions.

The presentation showcased recent research on the antifungal performance of innovative SiO₂@Ag core-shell nanoparticles and their application in textile coatings. This work contributes to the development of advanced antimicrobial materials designed to help prevent microbial contamination while supporting safer and more sustainable surface protection solutions, an objective closely aligned with SUPREME’s mission to develop next-generation antimicrobial nano-coatings.
ACAC 2026 brought together researchers from academia, research organisations and industry to discuss the latest advances in catalysis, advanced materials and nanotechnology. The conference provided an excellent opportunity to exchange knowledge, strengthen collaborations and disseminate research outcomes to the international scientific community.
In addition to the oral presentation, we are delighted to congratulate Foteini on receiving one of the conference’s Best Poster Awards in recognition of the quality of her research.
