On 16 September 2026, SUPREME partner George Kiriakidis (PCN Materials) participated in the RETASTE2026 Conference, held in Rethymno, Greece, bringing together more than 250 participants from the scientific community, industry, and other relevant stakeholders to discuss innovative approaches for sustainable technologies and environmental challenges.

During the conference, George Kiriakidis presented the work conducted within SUPREME together with the National Technical University of Athens: “Waste Water Treatment by novel Core-Shell Photocatalytic materials”

The presentation explored the development and potential application of novel core-shell photocatalytic materials for wastewater treatment, highlighting how advanced material design can contribute to more efficient and sustainable treatment solutions. The research presented at RETASTE2026 reflects the growing potential of advanced photocatalytic materials to address environmental challenges and demonstrates the importance of scientific collaboration in accelerating the development of innovative technologies. The work also connects with the broader research interests of the SUPREME project, which investigates advanced functional nanoparticles, including core-shell structures, for the development of sustainable and high-performance nanocoatings.
