SUPREME Joins Sister Projects at SICT 2026 Workshop
- 07/05/2026
- Prague, Czechia and Online
SUPREME will take part in the joint workshop “Antimicrobial Nanocoatings: Aligning Innovation, Regulatory Compliance and Market Uptake”, organised in collaboration with sister EU-funded projects NOVA, NANOBLOC, RELIANCE and MIRIA. The workshop will be held as part of the Surfaces, Interfaces and Coatings Technologies (SICT) 2026 Conference in Prague, Czech Republic, on May 7 2026, from 11:00 – 17:30 CET.
The event will bring together leading EU-funded projects and key stakeholders to discuss how antimicrobial nanocoatings can transition from promising laboratory results to safe, sustainable and market-ready solutions. Particular attention will be given to regulatory challenges, standardisation gaps, and the need to balance innovation with safety and compliance requirements.
SUPREME will be represented at the workshop by Dr. Jan Van Impe and Büşra Erol (KU Leuven), who will contribute to discussions and share insights from the project’s work on antimicrobial nanocoatings.
Through this joint initiative, the participating projects aim to share knowledge, exchange best practices and contribute to a more coordinated European approach to the development and uptake of advanced antimicrobial materials.
The workshop is open to researchers, industry representatives, policymakers and other stakeholders working in coatings, advanced materials, antimicrobial technologies and safety assessment.
